Implementing New Technology
There are amusing and horrific stories of the trials and tribulations associated with the transfer of technology, and the implementation of new systems and architecture. There are lessons that we can learn from those who have blazed the trails before us, and those who have been burned by the blaze. Get your fingers ready to count the five fundamental considerations for implementing new technology.

What we learned from Oracle
“The original plan was to transition the existing IT infrastructure to Oracle over a period of three months. It is three years later, and we think that we are almost done with our Oracle implementation.” Does this sound familiar? if so, you have plenty of good company. Oracle is a powerful engine. It is high octane, scalable, and has flexible object oriented architecture to allow continuous growth and integration. So, what went wrong?
Quite often, in the eager anticipation to install the latest and greatest engine, the other parts of the car were forgotten or overlooked. Sure you have a powerful new engine, but your steering wheel is gone. It was replaced by a series of point and click drop down boxes to precisely instruct the car to turn at a specific angle. Do you want to make a 30 degree turn, a forty degree turn, or a 90 degree turn, right or left? Simply choose the appropriate item from the drop down menu and you will have the exact turn that you desire. Gone is that old fashioned and inaccurate steering wheel that required manual intervention and guidance to gradually adjust the turn in process, and installed is the precision turning device that is managed by your mouse. The problem is, nobody mentioned that the new steering mechanism was sold separately, and would take another six months to program. Nobody mentioned that everyone responsible for driving the car would have to learn a new steering methodology, lose the ability to make manual adjustments along the way, and need to learn to be more predictive and accurate in the selection of the accurate turn. Adjustments can be made along the way to correct a turn, with more point and click menu selections, if necessary. The extra time, design and development costs, and employee training are sold separately. You see, Oracles sells that powerful engine, not the steering wheel.
Does that sound funny or familiar? If it sounds familiar, then the humor is bitter-sweet. If it sounds ridiculous, then you have not experienced it yet. The steering wheel is only one example. Once the steering mechanism is programmed and put into place, then the other discoveries begin. That powerful engine comes with a speedometer and tachometer, so you can see your performance and the RPM of the engine. Isn’t is exciting to see that you have only partially tapped into the incredible power of this magnificent Oracle engine? Unfortunately, if you rely on other dashboard devices like signals for turns, air conditioning, or a radio, then you have to build these things yourself. After all, the engineers of the engine realize that you turn on different roads than everyone else, you have personal preferences for your climate controls, and you have personal preferences for terrestrial or Sirius satellite radio stations. Therefore, you need to build the point and click objects, menus, and radio buttons to accommodate your personal preferences, and all the possible variations thereof. Someone forgot to mention that all of these functions and amenities ne
Cheap Laptop Computers: The Untold Story
Cheap laptop computers do give the equal benefit of high quality laptops in providing services to its owner. It is the owner’s discretion
to whether or not such computers suffice the void there is in their needs regarding such technological advances. But how can one be sure on the good quality that a cheap laptop presents and not only be fooled or lured by the big cheap laptops for sale sign?
Here are some of the most important things that consumers must first know before getting their money to a computer auction or gadget store:
One, you must take careful analysis on the core processor of the laptop. This is the computer or laptops independent processing unit. Cheap laptop computers, of majority, contain single core processor. With a single core processor, the laptop reads and executes actions in one single brain. Compared with high quality and expensive new versions of laptop computers, they mostly contain two processors which accordingly work as a separate unit. One reads while the other executes. This increases the performance feature of the computer or laptop. If a sale offers a laptop that contains two core processors, be mindful that there would be a catch at the end. Two core processors do cost addition bucks to be added and don’t usually go with a cheap laptop of less than $400.
Two, another thing to be mindful of is the Random Access Memory (RAM) of the laptop computers. RAM is considered to be the memory of the laptop that acts on a short – term basis. With this short – term memory feature, you may access previously saved information without going to dig deeper into the hard drive of the computer itself. Usually cheap laptops come with a 2GB RAM.

You will be surprised to find that some used laptops are still in good condition because their owners are power users or gamers.

Gamers or power users usually require the latest and most powerful technology to run their games or power hungry applications. They often will not settle for second best. They also have the tendency to chase after the latest technology. So after one year, they will be bored of what
they have and will look to sell off their laptops so that they can buy a new one. Now if you are looking to buy cheap laptops with up to date technology and you happen to have friends who are gamers, do ask them if they are looking to sell off their laptops. Scan through gaming forums and local gaming community

Do scan through local bulletin boards near you for cheap deals on laptop. Students or even companies do offer their used computers or laptops for sale when their studies or projects end. I personally had gotten a few good deals for my family and friends.
Look for cheap laptop with at least 512mb memory
This is especially important for used laptop. If the processor speed is slow, then having more memory can compensate for the lack in speed. In fact, the size of memory plays a big part in determining how fast a laptop runs an application. Just by increasing the memory size, you can see a huge difference in speed. A cheap laptop with at least 512mb memory can run most non graphic intensive application easily.
Get cheap laptop from reputable manufacturer
This is very important because if you are buying used laptop, then the chances of requiring servicing is higher than a new laptop. So if you buy from a reputable manufacturer, you will save a lot of trouble and time if your laptop does require servicing.
Omnidirectional Scanner for Industrial Requirements
An average single-line barcode scanner cannot come up with enough results as a nice Omnidirectional barcode scanner. Single line scanners are good at working for small scale areas but when they are required at industrial level, you might be facing some serious problems. Compared to the single line laser barcode scanners, the omnidirectional, industrial barcode scanner is aimed in every possible direction when placed in front of barcode reader.
The Omindirectional barcode scanner is widely referred to as symbol barcode scanner as it allows reading of an entire cross sectional area as compared to reading a single line. It comes with fixed mirrors. The patter of rays leaving the scanner are mixed up in such a way which ensures barcode reading from all the different angles and reading a larger area as compared to any other type of scanner.
Omnidirectional scanner has got loads of advantages over any other type of symbol barcode scanner. They come in different variations depending on the requirements and provide reading of barcodes comfortably. In case of industrial barcode scanners, the barcodes can be comfortably read at a distance of few meters. The efficiency of laser beams is high and this allows reading of torn, wrinkled and damaged barcodes.
